Academic Honors
- Harris Scholar for three consecutive school years, 2004-05, 2005-06, and 2006-07. Only person to be awarded the Harris Scholarship as either a freshman or a sophomore. The scholarship is usually given to three junior or senior undergraduate students at Florida State University who show an interest in computer security research and have outstanding undergraduate records. Teaching and Tutoring
- Volunteer technology coordinator and tutor at Kagando Hospital in Kagando Village, Uganda starting in September, 2008-ongoing; Working on developing a sustainable technology platform for the hospital (as well as implementing an electronic medical records system) and training staff in the use and maintenance of computer technology.
Research
- Worked for the Security and Assurance in Information Technology Laboratory (SAIT Labs) at FSU as an undergraduate programmer on a project that worked to discern whether an isomorphism exists between symmetric key encryption and certain types of assembly language code obfuscation. Summer 2006.
- Worked for the Center for Applied Vision and Imaging Sciences (CAVIS) as an undergraduate researcher from Fall 2006 through Summer 2008.
- Received a NASA undergraduate research fellowship to develop a low-cost 3D scanner built from a stereoscopic camera and over-the-counter LCD projector using structured light. Summer-Fall 2007 under the direction of Dr. Piyush Kumar, Florida State University Computer Science Department.
- Researched and successfully defended an Honors in the Major thesis based on work done for CAVIS, 2007-2008.
