bio::
I’m a senior undergraduate student at Florida State University. I’m majoring in computer science and mathematics. I am married to the most wonderful woman on the planet. Between work, school, planning for Uganda, and searching for graduate schools, I try to make time for my various interests. This site is mostly an anchor for my resume, but I will be posting tutorials, code snippets, 3d renderings and more as time permits.
I’m a Christian. I am a member of Saint Peter’s Anglican Church in Tallahassee, FL. My wife and I are planning to live in Uganda for six months in the service of our diocese (the Diocese of South Rwenzori, Uganda) between undergraduate and graduate school.
interests::
I am currently very interested in the relatively new field of computer vision. I’m employed by the Imaging Sciences Laboratory at FSU.
I like playing with computers (hence the computer science major). Several aspects of computers appeal to me, including: programming, 3D graphics, website design, and scripting.
When I’m not playing with computers you can find me in my garage covered with grease, with a hex wrench in one hand and a bicycle spoke in the other. Through my college career I’ve raced with the FSU Cycling Club. I like both mountain/trail and road cycling, though lately it has been all road cycling. I’m not an outstanding cyclist (it takes way too much time to keep it up) but I pretty much always commute by bicycle these days and I try to reserve time to train more seriously during the week. I currently own four working bikes and one frame that I’ll turn into a fixie whenever I get a couple of hours free one weekend. To see some of my bikes head over to my Velospace page.
I also love rock climbing. Tallahassee has a great rock gym (find their website here). I typically boulder, which is a type of climbing that is more technical, does not use ropes, and typically doesn’t go as high as other types of climbing (e.g. top roping).
Growing up as the child of two math professors I have also developed a love of mathematics and philosophy.
